Many things come up for us in our bodies during practice for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes pain passes but sometimes it sticks around even though we try to improve and deepen our understanding of how we move, practice and release deeper emotions. I find it very useful to give B3 sessions to Ashtanga practitioners. It is a great way to connect to what is going on in a person’s body and it provides useful information to work with in the practice setting. So please make use of the special for the month and come and feel the benefits of the B3 sessions for yourself. Best results can be felt after 3 sessions. Please spread the word or gift it to someone who may need some body TLC. All can benefit from B3.

We all need body maintenance either because we use our bodies so much or because we sit for long periods of time at work and are sedentary most of the day with bad postural habits. Brain-Body-Balance or B3 is a Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT). The technique is informed by related disciplines such as Myofascial Release, Bodywork, BodyAlignment and Trigger Point Therapy. B3 sessions encourages the body’s innate ability to heal.  It focuses on reseting the brain-to-body feedback into blocked or injured parts of the body. This is a natural neural feedback system and when it is restored and the body is in a state of relaxation, the body can heal itself. B3 helps restore the health and length of the myofascia (the connective tissue that wraps around the muscles and bones, holding everything together) which means that pressure is taken off of pain sensitive structures such as nerves and blood vessels. It will also aid in restoring alignment and mobility to the joints. Muscle spasms and tension can be re-set, joints can be restored, plus pain and stress can be released.

Continuous application of B³ may facilitate alleviation of the following conditions:

  • Back/ knee pain
  • Neck and shoulder tension
  • Tense muscles / immobility / inhibited body movement
  • Painful joints
  • Scoliosis
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Whiplash, tinnitus and dizziness
  • Arthritis
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Numbness of the extremities / ‘Pins and Needles’
  • Digestive problems
  • Panic attacks and heart palpitations
  • Over use of muscles
  • Stress
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Stiffness
  • Postural distortions
  • Chronic pain symptoms

Happy mind, happy body…happy body, happy mind
Much love, Sharline
